Here's an idea: could you take turns babysitting for "free" so each of you can do a shift or two a week somewhere for the extra money? I recently took on a part-time job for fun, opened a new bank account for my paycheck that I had decided not to touch and save it for vacation. Every pay cheque since has been spent on groceries. None of it has been saved for a vacation. Sad, yes, but happy, yes, because I feel really good about being able to buy food for the family from my own bank account from money I earned, whilst mostly being a stay-at-home mom.
